A long time ago, a tale is told of Midas, a king who seeks happiness in being very rich. Like most people, King Midas believed that if he became very, very rich, his happiness would be guaranteed. Therefore, he made a covenant with the Gods; After a long bargain, the gods agreed to Midas’ wish that everything he touched was turned into gold. King Midas certainly thought he had made a first-class deal. Nothing could stop him from becoming the richest man in the world, and therefore the happiest man. Soon after, Midas began to regret his bargain, because the food in his mouth and the wine on his palate were turning into gold before the King had a chance to swallow them. So King Midas died with gold plates and gold glasses around him.
