Most of the time, getting out of their comfort zone and grappling with problems that they can cope with keeps people vigorous, strong and alive. The best example of this is hidden in the method found by Japanese fishermen.
As an island society, the Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But on the coasts of Japan, fishermen began to sail into the ocean with larger boats to feed the population, as fish were scarce in abundance. In the beginning, the farther you went to fish, the longer it took to get back. If the return took longer than a day or two, the freshness of the fish caught was also lost. The Japanese did not like the taste of the fish that had lost its freshness and understood the difference. In order to solve this problem, the fishermen had cold storage built for their boats. Thus, they were able to go as far as they wanted and store what they kept frozen in the cold storage. However, the Japanese people, this time, distinguished the flavor difference between fresh fish and frozen fish and did not want to pay a lot of money for these fish. Thereupon, the fishermen found the solution by having a fish aquarium built on their boats. Although the Japanese people were alive this time, they also felt a difference in the taste of these fish. The taste of the fish, which travels for days in a still, numb state, is very different from the live, lively and active fish.
Finally, the Japanese found a completely different way to bring fresh and delicious fish to the table: While keeping the fish in their aquarium on the boat, they also put a small shark in it. Thus, although some of the fish were swallowed by the shark, the rest remained extremely fresh.
