Sounds Like An Opportunity
Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If they pray for courage, does God give them courage, or does he give them opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for their family to be closer, you think God zaps them with warm, fuzzy feelings? Or does he give them opportunities to love each other?
These wise questions in the movie Evan Almighty (2007) prompt us to think about the nature of prayers and how God might answer them. In addition to the fact that we need to be more aware of what we want, it also points out how important it is to approach the setbacks and difficulties that come our way. In this respect, things we consider problems may sound like opportunities to the conscious minds.
